Opening: Saturday, June 13th, 11am – 4pm
As part of the "critical ceramics" festival along Braubachstraße, we are exhibiting wood-fired ceramics by three Japanese ceramicists on the upper floor of our gallery. All three artists are rooted in their respective regional ceramic traditions, carrying them forward in a contemporary manner. Wood-fired ceramics are distinguished by their primal character; their coloration and natural ash glazes emerge directly within the kiln during the firing process.
The presentation is complemented by works from Yuko Sakurai, Kei Tanimoto and Hideaki Yamanobe.
